The AVRO 698 VULCAN was a british strategic bomber which flew from 1953 to 1984. With its 4 Olympus engines (these engines were later improved for Concorde!), the Vulcan was able to fly at 1040 km/h, delivering a nuclear “Blue Danube” bomb, a thermonuclear “Yellow Sun” or 21 conventional 454 kg bombs.

The AVRO VULCAN contributed to the victory of the british army during the Falklands war (1982). It completed several bombing raids during the “Black Buck” operation.

The XH558, featured on this video was fully restored in 2007. The “Vulcan to the Sky Trust” association is now searching fundings to fly this aircraft (
