RUNWAY INCURSION AT JFK AIRPORT

Authorities are now investigating a rwy incursion close call at JFK airport. A Delta Air Lines Boeing 737-900 (B739), registration N914DU, flight DAL1943 / DL1943 had to reject a takeoff at more then 100 knots when an American Airlines Boeing 777-200 (B772), registration N754AN, performing flight AAL106 / AA106 from New York John F. Kennedy International Airport, NY (USA) to London Heathrow Airport (United Kingdom) crossed the runway in front of them. The distance between the planes was only about 1,000 feet when they stopped. The American crew took a wrong intersection where Runway 4L and Runway 31L cross each other. The American 106 was cleared and supposed to cross RWY 31L on taxiway K.
